Why does a rose respresent love, if a rose always dies?

My sister has a little poster on her door that says that, and now i'm starting to wonder why. i know people just made it that way, and it is the way it is, but if a rose DOES represent love, and a rose always dies, does that mean the love dies with it?

Why does a rose respresent love, if a rose always dies?
yep all living things die sad but true.

however the history of the rose symbolising love dates back many centuries, and from what i understand in fact that the original reason i came to sybolise love was its resembalance to the female genatalia....

sad but true sorry... at least now you know...
Reply:look around u. no realationship last forver. maybe thats y the symbol was a rose in the first place.
Reply:love can die too..........but it's more of a sad love, i believe. like a loved one sick in a hospital and when they are given a rose it would be like a yearning for them to get better.......
Reply:Cause its quite beautiful while it lasts
Reply:duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh no!!!
Reply:Roses represent love-they're beautiful, pure, perfect--but they do have thorns . . . keep that in mind. ;-)
