Anyone know the song "Cracklin' Rose" by Neil Diamond? If so, how do you interpret the meaning of the song? When he sings "Craclin' Rose your store-bought woman", "Find us a dream that don't ask no questions" etc. etc. I interpret the song as a man who wants to carry on a relationship with a blow-up doll. I'm sorry if this offends anyone, and if it does, don't report me because this is a totally legit question. if anyone knows what the song is ACTUALLY about, let me know. My interpretation is probabally not accurate, but it's what I've always thought.
YOUR THOUGHTS?!?!?!
Cracklin' Rose?
I always thought it referred to the cheap wine "Crackling' Rose"
which he bought instead of a woman
His lyrics to Red Red Wine are similar
Don't know about today, but Cracklin Rose was a favorite in Canada in the 70's, around $3 a bottle
Reply:What you have said is your interpretation.
Here is what my web search revealed (namely it is a wine home brewed by a Canadian tribe) ... the song tells more here
