Climbing rose plant?

Okay i just bought a climbing rose plant. I have no experience with taking care of these... anyway I noticed one of the stems on my climbing rose plant is bent and the rose petals are starting to turn black; its not fully bloomed yet. should i cut it off below the bend? or should i just leave it alone?

Climbing rose plant?
Trim it off.

Click below for an excellent website for climbing roses. They do require a little bit of special care which is usually worth it when you get one in bloom that stops traffic from it's beauty.
Reply:if the bent stem is bent right over it may be that anything past the bend is dying. So just prune it back to before the stem. generally just in front of a set of leaves which will encourage a new branch.

Just another piece of advice about the climbers in general - usually blooms will come on branches that are horizontal, so try to train it that way to get more bloom.
Reply:Yes trim it off below or at the bend also you are going to have to provide the rose something to climb on like a treliss.
