Can a rose grow even if someone cut the rose and the rose doesn't have roots.?

I'm trying to grow a small rose but I cut it can I still grow it even if it doesn't have roots?

No you need roots to supply water and nutrients. If you are trying to propagate, that is make a new rose from a cutting.....which is what I think your question really is, then yes, you can take a cutting. Select young wood stem (no rose on the tip, please)...say something that is less than a year old or less but more than a few months. Include several 3 leaf clusters. Remove the lowest cluster, dip the stem into rooting hormone and insert in the growing medium.....a loose well drained soil. Then we cover the plant with a large jar that is set so air can come up from the bottom....little mini greenhouse. The plant is NOT in direct sun or else you end up with cooked rose goo. Keep the soil moist. Hopefully after 2-3 months roots have formed and the plant can be transplanted into a pot or into the garden and protected for the winter.





This isn't the best explanation, you need to see pictures on taking soft wood cuttings, but it gives you an idea it can be done.
