My mother has a Rose of Sharon bush which always gets lots of buds, but they never develop into blooms. We live in Indiana (I'm not sure which zone that is), but she has many other Rose of Sharon bushes, and they all bloom. What could be wrong? Is there anything she can do to make it bloom?
Rose of Sharon isn't blooming?
She might consider using a rose fertilizer. Rose food can encourage blooming but not necessarily encourage green growth, which is good! I did that with a double blooming rose of sharon and the blooms practically exploded out of the thing.

Reply:I would recommend using plant/tree food this year. Weekly dosage. Then in the fall, give them a good trim. I replanted rose of sharon's in my yard and they came back very nicely. Good luck I hope it works for you, rose of sharon is a pretty tree.

Reply:%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;The bishops convened at Nicea (as in the Nicene Creed) to not only determine which books should be included, but the very nature of Christ. %26lt;%26lt;%26lt;
Actually, the Council of Nicea dealt very little with the subject of the Bible.
Nicea was the first ecumenical (worldwide) council of bishops in the Church.
Since then, there have been 20 others.
None of them have ever "edited" the Bible -- nor has any Pope.
%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;Obviously, other leaders have commissioned their own versions of the Bible.%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;
The Catholic Church approves of certain versions of the Bible -- but their differences involve only translation. There are no "edits" in that meanings of things have been changed or dropped.
%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;After all, the most common version is called the King James Version! %26lt;%26lt;%26lt;
The KJV is not used in the Catholic Church.
%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;The part talking about the Virgin Mary was written in Greek, and in the Greek language at the time, "virgin" only meant a young girl--it had nothing to do with sex. %26lt;%26lt;%26lt;
Read Luke 1 and Mary's response to the angel Gabriel. She is quite plain in identifying herself as a virgin.
